End User License Agreement

This End User License Agreement ("EULA") is a legal agreement between you ("User") and FreeFrom Co. Ltd, a startup company in Tokyo, the creator of FreeFrom ("Application"). By downloading, installing, or using the Application, you agree to be bound by the terms of this EULA.

“Protocol” refers to the Nostr protocol, including current and future NIPs.

"Application" refers to the FreeFrom software, including any updates or modifications. Also described as “Client” in Protocol.

“Relay” refers to any Nostr relay server that can be deployed and maintained by anyone.

"Event" refers to a data structure which may contain text messages, image/video links or application-specific data. An Event is signed by the user’s private key.

The Application does not ask for or collect any personal information during the user registration process. The Application generates a private key for the user in this process. The private key is stored locally on the device, and cannot be accessed by other apps nor recovered from the cloud. From the private key, the Application derives a public key, which acts as a user’s identity in the Protocol. The public key may be stored by the Application server for user analysis purposes. The Application also tracks a user’s behavior data including but not limited to navigation, time of stay, scroll depth. This data will only be used for Application experience improvement, and will not be shared.

The Events are sent by the Client to third-party Relays. Each relay server comes equipped with its own privacy policy and terms of use. Your posts, likes, reports, quotes will be stored by one or more relays. Other Clients can query data from Relays using filters. The filters, which serve as search conditions, may also be stored by relays. A user may delete its events by sending “Delete Events” to the relays asking them to delete some Events for the user. But the deletion is not guaranteed to be performed by all the Relays.

The content of direct messages (DMs) is only visible to you and the counterparty the DMs are sent to. But the metadata of a DM, i.e., from whom, to whom, and the timestamp will not be encrypted.

You agree not to use this Application to create or spread content that:

• Is illegal, violent, or fraudulent
• Is religiously discriminatory, sexist, or harmful to minors
• Is pornographic, obscene, or offensive
• Is spam or contains phishing links

The Application has no AI or manual audit mechanism for contents sent by the Application nor contents received from Relays. The Application provides reporting functions as described in the Protocol. The Application has a configurable filter that can hide contents that have been reported multiple times. However, the Application will not be able to determine whether a reported content is illegal or not.

Your license to use the Application will terminate if you violate any of the terms of this EULA. Upon termination, you must cease all use of the Application and delete all copies of the Application from your devices.

The Application is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Application will be uninterrupted or error-free. In no event shall FreeFrom Co. Ltd be liable for any damages whatsoever, including but not limited to, direct, indirect, special, incidental or consequential damages for loss of profits, goodwill, use, data, or other intangible losses, resulting from your use of the Application.

We reserve the right to update or modify this EULA at any time and without prior notice. Your continued use of the Application following any changes to this EULA will be deemed to be your acceptance of such changes.
